Why you need Retinol in your skincare routine

These days we are constantly bombarded with new products and must-have edits by experts to add to our skincare routines, but just piling on tons of new product is not always the way to achieve consistently glowing skin. If we had to choose just one product to work some magic it would have to be one containing Retinol.

In the past early versions of Retinol products have received a bad press with reports of skin irritation, and so it's no wonder that many of us approach retinoids with trepidation. In reality Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A, which regulates cell turnover creating youthful skin in both appearance and function and has always been very effective.

The good news is the next generation of this anti-ageing ally are simultaneously less irritating, and in their new form, more active too. Advances such as micro-encapsulation which slowly releases the antioxidants and vitamins has helped tremendously in reducing irritation and optimising the effectiveness.

We also love Retinol Eye Gel, this vitamin packed gel is formulated especially for delicate eyes. This innovative product will dramatically reduce fine lines and crow’s feet whilst increasing firmness and elasticity whilst nourishing antioxidants Vitamin C and E will help protect against damage from free radicals.

Some of our favourite Retinol products come from the AlumierMD family which we supply from our luxury Sloane Street clinic - why not pop into the clinic for a consultation on whether adding this product to your routine might benefit your regime?
