Chemical Peels are classified as light, medium, or deep, depending on the depth of penetration of the ingredients used. Light peels exfoliate to various levels of the epidermis. Medium-depth peels treat through the papillary dermis and deep peels to the mid-reticular dermis. Deeper peels require more downtime and increase the chance of side effects, which include photosensitivity, pigment changes, and scarring. Here at Lisa Franklin Skincare, we offer light to medium depth skin peels which are known for their excellent results and safety profile. For the best results, we believe in repeated treatments for progressive and gradual results to avoid the side effects and downtime associated with deeper peels. The peels are performed by our fully trained skin care professionals so that they are delivered safely and effectively.
We recommend regular skin peels as part of a balanced skin care treatment program. At Lisa Franklin Clinic Privé we have six different chemical peel treatments to address your individual concerns and include our newest and recently launched Ultimate Glow Peel - this light brightening resurfacing solution contains lactic acid, salicylic acid, and resorcinol. Creating a multi-purpose resurfacing solution effective in minimizing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation targeting age spots, discolouration, and uneven skin tone.
For after care we recommend

There are plenty of skin care treatments available on the market these days, but some of them are a cut above. From chemical peels to oxygen facials, we thought it would be useful to find out from our resident expert Lisa Franklin what exactly the benefits of each one are. So this week we asked Lisa to talk Chemical Peels, which have been used dating back to Ancient Egypt. Cleopatra utilized sour milk to improve the appearance of her skin, according to some sources, making use of lactic acid which is an active ingredient in sour milk.
A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve skin texture and tone, it's great for the complexion without being harmful and this is how it works. An acid is applied to the skin to lower pH, this then loosens the connections between dead skin cells, it also exfoliates and stimulates new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. They can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen. The secret to the chemical peel is that it deeply exfoliates the surface layers of the skin forcing your body to quickly replenish it with new cells. When peels are performed regularly, the skin becomes used to this process and begins to rejuvenate itself like younger skin. We introduce exfoliation gradually giving the skin time to adjust and to ensure that the body doesn't react badly which sometimes leads to pigment changes.
Then follow this with
Lisa Franklin Pro Effect - Anti-inflammatory Frankincense will provide a soothing effect and reduce redness and the Colloidal Platinum will support healthy tissue regeneration.
